Another milestone

Matteo stood himself upright today, unaided by any surrounding stationary object, such as a chair or table. He was sittiing atop a pillow-topped mattress, actually--not the most stable surface under the feet. Still he managed to slowly maneuver himself into s freestanding position and stay there for a good 20-30 seconds before lowering himself back down as his legs shook with the effort. We are proud moms.

Yay!!! Hooray for standing children. My message to you, Teo: Stand tall, stand proud, and stretch so you can soon reach the cookies on the top shelf. :-)

Don't forget how the pediatrician said he was advanced. Well, she said right on track, or maybe even a bit advanced. But I think when your kid is really advanced, that's what they say, because they don't want to get you too excited so you'll still treat him like a normal boy and not mess him up like some child movie star or something. So really, he's advanced, but that can be our little secret so the other babies don't get jealous and start picking on him.

:-) Mommy
